The days of only enjoying yourself and relaxing in a spa that costs tons of money are long gone. Bathrooms can become the oasis that you dream of with a few simple upgrades during your remodel. With people tightening their budget yet still wanting something luxurious, a bathroom that does double duty (no pun intended) is a great investment in your remodel.
Some of you may be thinking that it is impractical to design a bathroom with any of those features because you won’t use them enough. We think there are a few great things you can incorporate into your bathroom remodel that will be practical for every day, but still provide the spa tranquility when you need it.
The Bathtub
Getting a quality bathtub is a great idea if you want to find a place that you can soak and relax. Although you may think that the money invested in a bathtub isn’t worth it, think of all the other things you can use it for. If you have children, soft water jets just make bath time loads more fun. If you’ve got small pets, your tub can be a great place to wash them as well. A great tub with water jets is worth its weight in gold if you’ve got aches and pains and need to relax your muscles. Better than a shower, a tub allows you to relax all of your muscles while the water jets work out the pains.
The Sink
How can a sink make you feel like you’re in a spa you ask? Simple – it’s the elegance factor. A basin sink adds a touch of glamour and elegance to your bathroom as opposed to the traditional mounted sink. If you are worried that the price of the sink is more than it’s worth, think about how much easier it will be to wash your face in the morning. The raised basin means less bending over and crunching up when you have to rinse your face. The higher bowl is also beneficial for men when it comes to shaving. They can rinse their face without feeling like they become a contortionist.
The Shower
It seems like the shower has become a quick in-and-out process for the busy adult. But what if it could be more? Getting a quick shower in the morning is sometimes all you need, but with all of the possibilities, it may be somewhere you try to end your day. Adding a steam head or wall sprays; the shower can be a place to unwind at the end of the day. The great part about these high end showers is that they can be programed so in the morning, with a touch of a button, your shower is set to the perfect temperature and water flow. This ends the problem of getting into a cold shower while you’re half asleep!
The Atmosphere
Spas always have great background music to create a sense of tranquility while you’re there. We know this isn’t practical for your spa bathroom on a daily basis but wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to turn the TV on in the bedroom to listen to the news while you got ready in the morning? Adding an A/V system into the bathroom can eliminate the need to wake or bother anyone else to watch the news while you’re getting ready. These features also double as entertainment for little ones while they’re in the bath – fun songs to sing along to. Or you can listen to relaxing music while taking a hot shower or bath after a long day.
Why not make life a little more pampered? Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference.
